Co-Ops Fuels & Lubricants – Remedial Investigation (FDEP) – May 2025 – Gulfport, Florida

As part of an environmental remedial investigation for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), our firm successfully executed its first Direct Push Technology (DPT) drilling project in Florida. This milestone effort was conducted at the Co-Ops Fuels & Lubricants site in Gulfport, utilizing our newly acquired Geoprobe® 3216GT.
The scope of work included the installation of a double-cased 2-inch diameter monitoring well to a depth of 35 feet, protected by a 6-inch surface casing, as well as two additional shallow monitoring wells installed to depths of 13 feet. To support detailed subsurface characterization, split spoon soil samples were collected from 5 feet to the total depth at each location.
Following drilling, all monitoring wells were developed and protected using 8-inch bolt-down manholes, each set in a 2’ x 2’ x 4” concrete pad to ensure secure, long-term access and structural durability. All drill cuttings were containerized in steel drums in accordance with environmental handling protocols.
This project demonstrates our firm’s growing capacity in environmental investigation and drilling services, as well as our ability to support complex, compliance-driven remediation efforts across Florida.
